Chardham Yatra also known as the four abodes of God, the spiritual retreat of Dev Bhoomi, Each year thousands of pilgrims initiates their journey to Uttarakhand to pay their homage to char dhams or temple based in the heavenly abode of North India. The Char dham OR 4 Dham yatra consists of temple visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri , Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Praying at these temples is believed to have the power of liberating the soul, cleansing inner spirit and bringing absolute peace of mind. Some even believe that the life of a Hindu pilgrim is incomplete without receiving the blessings of the idols based in char dhams in the Himalayas.

The Chardham destinations also have mythological connotations, as the Badrinath is identified as the meditation spot of Lord Vishnu and is mentioned in the sacred Hindu texts such as Vedas and epics and Puranas.

How To Plan Chota Char Dham Yatra, Uttarakhand -

Haridwar , Rishikesh & Dehradun , all three important cities are connected with major railway stations such as Howrah Railway Station, Mumbai Central Railway Station, Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station, Puri Railway Station & Bangalore Cy Jn (SBC). Planning to travel by flight , you can reach Indira Gandhi Delhi Airport or Dehradun Airport, which are nearest Airport ( Connected to all major airports in India) to Badrinath & Kedarnath Ji Temple.

Char dham could be reached from different cities in India. However, it is advised that you begin the yatra from Haridwar since it is a well-connected city and near to Delhi. Dehradun airport is the closest airport and could be covered via on-road taxi. The total 55 kms could be trailed from Haridwar to catch any flight. Regular flights are also available between Delhi and Dehradun. Char dham helicopter service is also available from Dehradun. Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport to Haridwar and has proper connectivity. It can be reached from any dhams easily.

Gaurikund to Kedarnath suits those who are adventurous at heart. The divine yatra affects each individual in a different manner. Those who wish to indulge into a spiritual adventurous yatra, cold explore the specific route and enjoy trekking the steep 14kms path from Gaurikund to Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun. The trekking route is connected with key towns in the dev bhoomi. However, those who are taking the path to offer prayer or other serene reasons and aged pilgrims could avail horse, taxies and palanquin to reach destination and attain spiritual sojourn.
